2014 Rakuten Mobile Library - The Rebirth of Tohoku - WA in Paris
The Rakuten Mobile Library was a public-private joint project that Rakuten and Shimane Prefecture held together for education promotion. The purpose was to make books more accessible to children and stimulate their creativity.
"The Rebirth of Tohoku – WA in PARIS" was part of the "OECD Tohoku School" recovery and educational support project organized in 2014 by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT), and Fukushima University. The overseas event was held in Paris for raising awareness and donation activities.

Before Beeans Inc. joined
Rakuten was aimed to raise awareness for the significance of activities through the event and CSR activities in Paris and to realize social contribution activities for children of Fukushima Prefecture.
Rakuten had the project idea of sending handwritten support messages from the event visitors to the children of Fukushima Prefecture, but they were facing difficulty in building a well-structured system.
Initiatives of Beeans Inc.
Beeans Inc. was engaged as Project Management Office (PMO) based on our global business experience, coordination, negotiation, and language ability.
We supported the overall event production, starting from producing vehicles and space design, introducing activities in Japan, preparing sign-up of support messages for children in Fukushima, and translating messages written in French, English into Japanese.
Project success
During the event, we received hundreds of support messages from visitors from all over the world, and we were able to deliver them to the children of Fukushima Prefecture afterward.
Further, we have received positive results after donating books to an NGO, Secours Populaire Français (SPF); they agreed with the support activities and philosophy and decided to collaborate with Rakuten to have another support activity next year in France.
